Tours Aventuras is a group of locals who want to share their love and knowledge of El Cuyo and it’s surrounding area with you. They provide a number of different tours.
If you’d like to book any of these – you can contact Luis on +521 9861116679 or stop by his house in the main square (picture below). Prices are in pesos, per boat and for up to 5 people and all tour bookings require $500 deposit:
One way to Holbox: $2500 – direct no stops and leaving early morning
Holbox Day Trip: $3500 – please see blog post for all information
Sport fishing (like a local): $2000 – leaves early morning and lasts a couple of hours. If you’re used to fishing with a rod, be prepared, this is an authentic experience where you get to hand fish like a local using a reel and little else. If you don’t manage to catch anything (highly unlikely), you’ll only have to pay the fuel $750! (Please note, if you want to do a trip hiring rods etc., there are other options also available – get in touch!)
Dolphin Spotting: $2000 – leaves early morning and lasts a couple of hours – until you spot dolphins. If you don’t manage to see any (highly unlikely), you’ll only have to pay the fuel $750!
Snorkelling: $2000 – trip lasts 2 to 3 hours and goes to a sunken ship and a nearby reef. This tour can only run when the water visibility is good (so doesn’t usually run between November and March).
Flamingos: $2000 – trip lasts 2 hours and takes you through the lagoon to the flamingos. Be aware that flamingos are nervy creatures and aren’t too fond of motorboat noise so although you’ll get close enough to see them, ideally you’d have a zoom for your camera to get detailed photos! The trip also goes via the Baño Maya and you’ll get to see horseshoe crabs (prehistoric creatures that are under threat of extinction).
Las Coloradas: $3000 – same as the flamingo trip, plus an additional hour to take you to the pink lagoons of Rio Logartos.
